Have to keep the app open

I feel like in past versions I have been able to put my phone in sleep mode or leave the all and the radio will keep playing but when I just used it it stops everytime. Im not sure why this is happening now now but its really annoying because I cant check my fantasy scores without it stopping and having to reconnect when I re enter the app.
